The Garden State

Can you remember a movie you've seen some time ago - whether it be when you were 3, 10, a few years ago, or just the other night - and you watch it again, but your impression is completely different? It could be that you loved the movie because of the romance and relevance, but now that you're single it takes on a completely different tone... Or maybe you hated the movie, but now you can at least respect it for some qualities... Or you loved the movie but now hate the acting/actors... Or maybe you are too scared to watch it again because your impression could be tainted and you want to treasure the memory of the first time(s) you saw it.
Make up your own examples, because I think you get the point.

This gets carried over into all sorts of memories... I remember when I was a kid, I used to dread the winter. It wasn't really the cold, or the unbearable task of walking instead of biking/rollerblading... It was the fact that rhubarb was out of season, thus my mother could not make her strawberry apple rhubarb jam (I'm aware that it sounds weird, but bare with me). I loved it so much that I would make her make extra batches and put them in jars so that we could last throughout the winter (although we never could...). But a few years back, I tried it again and I absolutely hated it! The smell actually made me gag.

What are your memories that have been tainted (for better or for worse)?
