I need to vent.

Around the end of the school year, I told myself I wanted to play a solo show. I decided around mid-May that I should start a band, because that would be cooler. After some serious writing and practicing, it was time for me to start recruiting. A friend of mine from school said that he wanted to start jamming my solo stuff with me, so I figured that we should jam my new full band compositions. So with me on guitar and vocals and Ajay on bass, all we needed now was a drummer. Dave Meagher of Five O'Clock Charlie and I had been hanging out, and I asked him. He said alright, and we jammed once. It went really well, but then he missed the second two practices, so he and I came to a decision and now he is no longer with us (Team Captain, that is). Unfortunately, I was already planning on recording at the end of July with Dave and Ajay, but now we were out a drummer. Ajay suggested a friend of his who also goes to school with the two of us. I called him up, he seemed interested, and so we scheduled some jams. Monday, July 24th, was our first. We pretty much just taught the songs that are going to be recorded. Tuesday the 25th, we jammed again, but all we did was a run-through of the songs because our new drummer (Duran, like Duran Duran, but singular) rocks. And so now today is Friday the 28th. This is our final jam before recording. Tomorrow we bring our gear over to the house where we are recording (Tom from the Wolfnote is our guy!!!). And then Sunday at 9am until "whenever", we start. Monday the 31st we will finish recording, and mixing, mastering, and additional producing will be done in the next few evenings following Monday. I can't say how long after that it will take to be done, but keep checking the website, and the new songs should be up within a week or so. www.myspace.com/werteamcaptain

Oh. Ask me if I'm excited.

wow, with the word "vent" I was expecting some angry rant about how you are so stressed out about your band/ hate your life. What a pleasant surprise! Good luck recording :)
